We had our first Airedale Terrier in 1962; a ‘Tanworth’ Airedale, whom we named Marcus, at the same time our niece Karen was born. From the moment Karen could crawl if Marcus was about they were inseparable, if Karen was missing she was asleep with Marcus in his bed.

Our next Airedale was Ben who we had as a two year old from Airedale rescue as we were unable to find a puppy, he was very nervous and wary of men but turned out into a great dog……although for some reason he disliked any German Shepard-he could spot one a mile away.

It was at this point we decided two dogs would be better than one, so this is where Miniature Schnauzers made their entrance – it would have been another Airedale but we couldn’t get two Airedales and two growing boys in our car.

So, Sam a three month old salt and pepper Miniature Schnauzer joined the family, followed by Casey because Graham wanted Sam to be a father.

That started us breeding Miniature Schnauzers, in 1989 and we have had a litter approximately every eighteen months – two years since then.

Breeding Airedales started with our oldest son Christopher, buying an Airedale bitch called Bobbi and nine months later being posted to Cyprus, so Bobbi come to live with us. We kept a puppy bitch called Jessie (Evening Glow x Quaintways Uchelwr of Tanworth) from Bobbi’s first litter, it was Jessie who started our showing efforts. From Jessie we had Chloe- Jaymitch Kristina of Palmer (Magwyr Cymreig Verdi ex Jaymich Krissy) who has done quite well in the show ring. Jessie has also produced Jaymitch Saffron Noir by Magwyr (Sherifs Rigoletto by Magwyr ex Jaymich Krissy) this year’s top Airedale Terrier puppy.

Stargus Galileo ex Jaymitch Kristina of Palmer (Chloe) produced a lovely litter in 2003 and from the litter we kept Kristi – Jaymitch Will’s Robinella-who is slowly maturing.
